Limpopo Field Guide Academy (LFGA)
Limpopo Field Guiding Academy has found a new home base at Tau Camp on Mongena Game Lodge’s property in the Dinokeng Game Reserve 40 minutes north of Pretoria.
LFGA has been in operation since 2003 and caters not only to the guide training sector, but also adventure seekers from abroad. With a range of courses to choose from, students are able to complete the full FGASA (Field Guides Association of Southern Africa) qualifications, as well as the CATHSSETA National Qualifications – the basic requirement for Field Guides in South Africa.
With the highest quality trainers and subject matter experts, LFGA is able to combine learning requirements with an adventure-filled experience in the wilderness of the South African bushveld. With special focus on dangerous game training, tracking and birding skills, LFGA trainers are the best in their field and the result is training and mentorship of the highest order.
There are 9 starting dates for courses per year and students can choose from course options of 3 weeks, 4 weeks or the full 2 month FGASA course.
Not only is the course an excellent way to become qualified, but our students make life-long friends at LFGA. The special bond created on course can be summarised by our motto:
“ONCE A LIMPOPO RANGER, ALWAYS A LIMPOPO RANGER!”
