Mongena Game Lodge

The 71-bed Mongena Game Lodge is situated in the malaria-free north-western section of the Dinokeng Game Reserve – a convenient 30 minute drive, 50 km north of Pretoria. It is accessible by tarred main road or tarred private airstrip. The Lodge has recently been awarded a 4 star grading by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa. Mongena guarantees a one-day bush safari without equal for the international business or leisure traveller with time constraints.

The Lodge is named after the Boekenhout tree, which is indigenous to the area. The resident Nyala herd living within the gardens of the main lodge has become a trademark for Mongena and is cherished by young and old. A state-of-the art conference centre and romantic chapel complete the unique offerings at the main camp. View the terrain map of the main camp.

The farm boasts plentiful game with splendid rhino viewing in the distinctive African bush. The lodge prides itself on a 20 hectare scenic dam flanked by the Pienaars- and Boekenhoutrivers. Wetlands surrounding the dam produce a variety of birdlife which even veteran bird watchers are pleasantly surprised to observe.

Throughout the year, we offer special events such as Sunday lunches, mother's and father's day lunches , customised birthday parties, weddings, christenings and product launches.
